Slater was the owner of the Warlock Shopppe in Brooklyn and later the Magickal Childe in Chelsea. The Childe formed the New York epicenter of American paganism, Wicca, and occultism. He and his partner, Eddie Buczynski, were highly influential spokespersons, advocates, and Craft innovators.
